１．Dormitory for International Students

　Okayama University, Tsushima Campus, has three dormitories for international students. International students can live there for one year from their entrance to the university.

①Kuwanoki Dormitory

Rent（including internet fee）：NORTH WING 15,000 yen per month

※Residents must pay separately for their personal consumption of gas, water and electricity except rent.

Period of Stay： The period of stay is more than 1(one) month and less than 1(one) year. The permitted period of stay is as follows;
1. April move-in residents:from April 1 to March 26 of the following year
2. October move-in residents:from October 1 to September 25 of the following year
※If April 1 or October 1 falls on a Saturday, Sunday and national holiday, tenancies will begin from the next weekday.

Period of Stay：2 weeks(13 nights and 14 days) to 1(one) year
The permitted period of stay for students is as follows;
1. April move-in residents:from April 1 to March 26 of the following year
2. October move-in residents:from October 1 to September 25 of the following year

２．Application

①International Students not including Priority Students
In the case of more applicants than available rooms, residency is decided by lottery. The lottery is held in the following schedule.（The schedule is subject to change.）

Applicants must apply for the lottery by the lottery registration system.
Kuwanoki Dormitory：No Rooms Available
Fukui Dormitory：No Rooms Available
International House：No Rooms Available

Important Notes　regarding residence by lottery

・You need to come to the designated place on the day specified for the lottery and draw a lot.
In the case you cannot attend the lottery, you can leave it to the International Center or ask someone to be your substitute and to attend the lottery. If you choose to send your substitute to the lottery, you must get his/her consent and inform him/her of the information about lottery (date and venue).
・If you would like to cancel the residence after the lottery, please contact the International Center as soon as possible.

②Residence Priority International Students（such as Japanese Government　(MEXT) Scholarship holders）

　April and October priority residence entry students. Applicable international students have priority in securing residence accommodation and will be assigned rooms if the number of rooms is sufficient. If the number of the residents exceeds the number of the vacancies, a lottery for priority residents will be held. Some students such as special research students will enter Okayama University at a time other than April or October. Such irregular entry students need to consult with the international center through the office of their Faculty/Graduate school. Depending on the situation, a room may not be available. If you don’t know if your status at Okayama University is priority, please contact the international student office at Okayama University （housing@・・・）. All room assignments are final upon move-in.

Only one person is permitted per one room. If your spouse lives abroad, you can live in the dormitory. However, if your spouse lives in Japan, you cannot live there. In this case, please contact the International Student Office as soon as possible. Visitors are not allowed to lodge in your room. If we find out that you have any visitor lodging in your room, you will be asked to leave the dormitory immediately.

【Who is a Priority Student?】
　Japanese Government　(MEXT) Scholarship Students, Government of Malaysia Sponsored Undergraduate Students(only for Students accepted through Japanese Government　(MEXT)), Government of Saudi Arabia Sponsored Undergraduate Students(only for Students accepted through the Saudi Arabian embassy), Exchange Program Okayama Students (EPOK), Okayama-Hue International Master’s Program Students, Okayama University-North East China Universities Platform 'Graduate' Student Exchange Program (O-NECUS) Students／Exchange Students by University or Faculty Level International Exchange Agreements／中国国家留学基金管理委员会国家公派研究生项目留学生（只限于经过冈山大学办理接受手续的学生。）

Important Notes regarding move-in

・Tenants cannot move in earlier than April 1 or October 1. If April 1 or October 1 falls on a Saturday, Sunday or national holiday, tenancies will begin from the next weekday.
・Each room is equipped with a bed but a bedding is not included. If you would like to purchase a bedding from Okayama University, please make an order through Residence Application System. You can order or cancel a bedding anytime before the lottery through the System, but NOT after the lottery.
・If you are a priority student and wish to purchase a bedding, please e-mail to the International Center. Please note, though, applications can only be accepted at least 14 days before your scheduled moving-in date. Applicants made within this 14-day period will not be accepted.
【Bedding set (conforter, mattress, blanket, pillow, sheet) 14,385yen】
・When you send your baggages to the dormitory, you must make sure it arrives three days before the moving-in day or later. Do not send it before that. Also, please write your name, address of dormitory and your room number clearly on your baggage.
